Hotel Balmoral Inn (Oban, United Kingdom)

This B&B is fairly cheap and the location is great. It's close to the town centre and the ferries. There are some good restaurants around as well.

The ambiance at the guest house is laid-back and casual. It's one of those places where you don't feel like you have to walk on egg shells. You can pretty much be yourself. The staff are friendly, helpful, and easygoing.

The bar is the gem of the B&B. It's where the people hang out, whether they stay at the guest house or a local from the area. The people are friendly and you can always have a good chat over a beer.

The Wi-Fi is iffy inside the room. If you want a connection you either have to go to the stairway or down to the bar.

The inn is a bit  like Fawlty Towers! There's much that needs to be done that makes staying at the inn less than endurable. Electrical things tend do not function properly like the TV and electrical sockets. Damp walls, filthy windows, and peeling paint, and taped grimy carpeting will offend even the most tolerant individual. You may also find that the hot water is hard to adjust, no light bulbs in lamps, and tacky furnishings. It's like they've just let the place go.

You'd better have some cash on hand as the inn does not accept cards. There are no ATMs close by either.
