The park, founded in 1973, is one of ten national parks in mainland Greece and is located 30 kilometers (19 mi) north of the city of Ioannina in the northern part of the Pindus mountain range. Information Aoos (Greek: Αώος, for other forms of the name see below) is a river in northwestern Greece and southwestern Albania. Its total length is about 272 kilometres (169 mi), of which the first 80 kilometres (50 mi) are in Greece, and the remaining 192 kilometres (119 mi) are in Albania. Vjosë is fed by two secondary branches, both in Albania, the Drino river and the Shushicë. River Voidomatis in Zagoria Greece: River Voidomatis flows across the villages of Zagoria, Epirus. It is one of the most scenic natural attractions in Greece. This river is a famous active holiday destination for tourists from all over the world. It is also characterised by the traditional stone bridges along it and it is famous for its clean water, as it is probably the cleanest river in Europe. Information The Konitsa Bridge is a unique bridge due to its location and construction. It was built in 1871 and costed 120.000 Turkish lira. The builder was Ziogas Frontzos from the village of Pyrsogianni. This was the second attempt to bridge the Aoos river since a previous bridge designed by Turkish engineers collapsed. Information In the northern part of the Park, and very close to the town of Konitsa, the Aoös river passes through channels formed by the bulges of the nearby mountains of Trapezitsa 2,022 m (6,634 ft), Tymfi and Raidovouni 1,957 m (6,421 ft), creating another gorge that is 10 km (6 mi) long.
