About A Beautiful Edge of the World Bed & Breakfast

Modern bed and breakfast in a secluded but convenient location near Two Step and Kealakekua Bay (Cook Monument) for some amazing snorkeling and the Place of Refuge to get a glimpse of what ancient Hawaii was like. Fantastic sunset/ocean views. Tranquil. All three of our rooms have private bath, in-room safe, and personal refrigerator. Each room can accommodate up to four guests, although with guests three and four we may need to use Japanese style futons or sofa-beds. Our wish is that you will feel like you are staying with friends here in Hawaii rather than being cubed up in a hotel somewhere. We take the time with all of our guests to find out their interests and help them to build as tight or loose an itinerary as they wish -- emphasizing ocean, geological, archeological, nature, scientific, cultural, and/or social activities. As you will find, there is much to do on the Big Island, or, what we call, the "real Hawaii.". A large portion of our guests are return "customers" who come back to the Edge year after year. Many people use the Edge of the World as a base from which to explore the rest of the Big Island. Others use it as a place to watch papaya grow, and that's fine too. For Kana, my Japanese wife, and me, it is a genuine pleasure to meet folks from around the U.S. and from around the world. Your host was a jet pilot in his early life, a professor in middle life, and a coffee farmer/inn keeper now. He and Kana love meeting and hosting people from around the world. Complimentary breakfasts include our own Kona coffee and organic tropical fruits grown on the farm. There are many very good but affordable restaurants a short drive away to pick up lunch or dinner.
