Positive Reviews

Perfect for romance

Dannii Minogue once described this hotel as “the perfect lust den” Guest reviews indicate that it’s easy to see why - “an escape from reality” and “a real life fairy tale” are among the many positive comments made about the Witchery By The Castle.

Worth the outlay for special occasions

The Witchery By The Castle doesn't come cheap and while most guests agree with that statement, they’re also, for the most part, adamant that it’s worth every penny - particularly if you’re celebrating a special occasion Spoil yourself!

Great location

If you can drag yourself away from the lavish surroundings of your suite, step outside to explore You’ll find yourself in the heart of the historic old town area and within a few minutes walk from Edinburgh Castle It doesn't get much better than this.

Negative Reviews

Not a wide choice of vegetarian dishes

While this won’t matter too much to meat lovers, vegetarians don’t seem overly pleased with the variety of dishes available to them Guests who are allergic to shellfish aren't wowed by the fact the restaurants can't guarantee cross-contamination.

Not a power shower in sight

It’s fair to say that state-of-the-art showers are not really in keeping with the theme of this hotel Instead, you’ll get a shower above the roll-top bath The idea is that you enjoy the bath, so you’re out of luck if you prefer an invigorating shower in the morning.

Parking is a little inconvenient

While some guests comment that the price of nearby parking is high, most seem more concerned that there aren't ample spaces nearby Dropping off and picking up can be a little tricky too, so you may end up carrying your luggage a little further than you anticipated.
