Afton Hotel in Eastbourne is a family-run hotel situated opposite the seafront and Pier. The beautiful Carpet Gardens along the promenade are a short walk away.

The hotel’s rooms are located on three floors and all provide an en-suite shower or bathroom. Standard mod cons include a flat screen television with freeview channels, drinks making facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi. Some rooms have balconies and views of the sea.

Afton Hotel features a lift with access on all floors and function rooms that can cater for up to 160 people. There are also two air-conditioned dance floors and several bars and lounges.

A complimentary full English breakfast is served every day in the hotel’s on-site restaurant. The restaurant also offers a choice of three evening meals.

Beachy Head is an 11-minute drive from the hotel and retail therapy can be found in Eastbourne Arndale Centre, just half a mile away.

Great location

If you are looking for a hotel close to Eastbourne seafront, then you will be happy to choose Afton Hotel. The seafront is a stone's throw away and some rooms even have views of the sea. Famous attractions like the Pier and Carpet Gardens are a short walk away and there are also plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Clean and comfortable accommodation

Guests are pleased to report that the rooms are comfortable and cleaned to a high standard. Although some rooms may be on the small side, generally guests are very happy with the accommodation at this hotel.

Showing signs of age

According to feedback, it seems that some of the rooms would benefit from renovation and redecoration. The hotel management report that they are in the process of updating the bedrooms to improve the standard of accommodation.

Parking sometimes tricky

A few guests found it problematic securing a parking space near the hotel. The parking is on-road and, due to the hotel's proximity to the seafront, can get quite busy. It appears that the hotel operates a permit system which offers discounted parking prices, so if you are planning to drive to the hotel ask reception for more details.

Sound insulation not the best

There are some reports of noise disturbance from adjoining rooms and noise from people on the street outside on Friday and Saturday nights. Some guests commented that the walls were perhaps too thin and offered inadequate sound insulation but acknowledged that this is understandable given the age of the property.
