Positive Reviews

Staff at The Beacon go Above and Beyond

Front desk staff members try everything in their power to get guests the best room to suit their individual needs. Overall, staff members at this hotel are pleasant, friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful. They go above and beyond to make a stay at the hotel as enjoyable as possible.

The Hotel is Located in a Great Area

The hotel is located in a perfect area that is easily accessible to Dublin’s city centre and it is close to many attractions and retail shops, some of which are in walking distance.

The Guest Rooms are Bright and Comfortable

Clean guest rooms are decorated in a fun and quirky fashion that provides a light and airy atmosphere. The beds are very comfortable and the shower has a lot of water pressure.

Negative Reviews

The Beacon is A Poorly-run Hotel

The staff members at the Beacon seem to be confused about what to do when emergencies or problems arise such as fire alarms going off, bogus bill charges and room mix-ups. When something goes wrong, no one knows what other staff members are doing and no one seems to want to take charge and nothing is explained and no apologies are provided afterward.

There are Some Issues with the Guest Rooms

It’s obvious the décor is meant to be chic but it’s actually rather bad. Other issues with the rooms include air conditioning units that do not turn off, carpet stains and malfunctioning televisions.

The Service in the Restaurant is Poor

Some guests reported receiving dirty utensils. Long waits to be served and to receive meals have also been reported. Some have said meals were cold, undercooked and of poor quality and the staff seems to have no knowledge of how to serve guests properly.
