Positive Reviews

Beautiful Hotel and Grounds

This hotel exudes a wonderful ambience. There are lovely gardens to explore, and plenty of outdoor seating. The public areas are warm and quirky, full of character. The hotel oozes grace and charm with dark wood panelled walls, rich tones, chandeliers, and opulent antique furniture in public spaces.

Excellent Location

This hotel is ideally situated in an excellent area from with to explore Drogheda and the Boyne Valley. It's an easy drive to Dublin, and well placed for those who wish to explore the region. There's a shopping mall within a 10-minute walk of the hotel, and you can walk to virtually everything else in town as well.

Well-Prepared Meals

This hotel's restaurant is fantastic, of an old-style character, yet warm and comfortable. All meals are carefully prepared, wonderfully presented, and excellent quality. Great attention to detail is given to how each dish is presented. Guests also say the breakfast service is of a high standard, and the perfect way to start your day of sightseeing.

Negative Reviews

Rooms On Small Side

Rooms are a bit small and feel compact, with shallow wardrobes and not many storage options in the room, although guests also say the small rooms are not enough to ruin the stay. Rooms themselves are basic in decor and a bit dated. Some updating would do wonders.

Cold Rooms

Some guests say that rooms can get a bit cold. The heating system appears to turn off at midnight, with no real way to control it. Blankets are rather lightweight, so you may want to bring an extra one with you.

No other issues reported

So far, no other recent negative opinion has been expressed by guests about this hotel.
