Positive Reviews

Superb location

Guests say that The Ship In Dock Inn is conveniently located close to the ferries and town centre. The Naval College, bars and restaurants are a short walk from the Inn. The distance to the town is an enjoyable and easy walk along the riverside promenade. Many guests like the historic look of the inn.

Friendly staff; great breakfast and meals

The inn has very friendly and professional staff and guests say they are always welcomed with a smile. They like the great choice for breakfast, the delicious home cooked meals and guests feel that it suits both light and heavy eaters. Many guests claim that the chips served are the best they ever tasted.

Spacious rooms and bathrooms

Guests find the rooms clean, comfortable and spacious. They say that the bathrooms are massive and the showers are very powerful. Guests enjoy splendid views of the Estuary and river from the rooms.

Negative Reviews

Hidden from view; rates on the higher side

Some guests say that the only issue they found was that the inn was right next door to a building construction project and this partially hid the inn from the River Dart. Some guests found the rates charged by the establishment expensive.

No dedicated parking onsite

Many guests say that a downside of the inn is that there is no dedicated parking onsite. Parking on the road is an issue especially during some months when restrictions are in force. A park is available for parking but it is a mile away and on top of a hill.

In need of a revamp

Guests say that the inn looks tired and in need of a revamp and fresh paint. The taps in the bathrooms are tricky to use as they take considerable time to turn on and off.
