About Moelwyn

Moelwyn, originally a pair of Victorian townhouses, offers inn accommodation in the coastal resort of Criccieth, on the North Wales Coast. Criccieth Beach is just a two-minute walk away, Criccieth Castle five minutes away and Porthmadog, Portmeirion and Black Rock Sands are all within a 17-minute drive.

The seven rooms are individually furnished according to the period, have mountain and/or sea views, en-suite bath or shower, free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV.

Free parking is available for guests and the inn is a smoke-free facility.

Breakfast in the dining room looks over the water, and Moelwyn’s restaurant has an enviable reputation for quality cuisine and views.

The inn is perfectly located for coastal and hill walks, is almost on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and is 16 miles from Snowdon Mountain itself.

Positive Reviews

Guests well looked after.

Those who decided to stay at The Moelwyn said they were made very welcome by staff members who went out of their way to help out.

Ideal spot to relax and explore.

You will find the inn to be relaxed with no noise from bars and clubs, while the shops, beach and castle of Criccieth are found within an easy walk, and here you will have a particularly good base for exploring around close to Porthmadog and the Snowdonia

Meals look and taste good.

Should a superb-tasting and well-presented meal be on your wish-list, the freshly prepared meals here will be just what you are after.

Negative Reviews

Refurbishment is the question.

With the vast majority of guests happy with the quality of the rooms, it was only a small few who thought the furniture and the rooms were dated, but nevertheless, some refurbishment appears to have taken place.
