Delightful B&B

The Falkland Arms in Chipping Norton is described as a lovely place to stay - charming and delightful. The old building is well preserved and has a lot of vibrancy and character felt guests. The open fires, beams and low ceilings have an old world charm. One guest described the place as ‘a bit of a celebrity haunt'. Another said that the rooms are a lot better than the average B&B.

Excellent food and ales

The food on offer is of a high quality felt most guests. The ales served receive very appreciative comments as well. The service is described as friendly, genial and helpful. The food and stay are described as good value for money.

Lovely location

The village of Great Tew is a quaint old place tucked away off the beaten track but with some real atmosphere. There are a number of great dog walks from The Falkland Arms pub for guests to enjoy. The location is recommended for leisure and work related trips.

Negative Reviews

Low ceilings and beams

While these features do add to the charm of the place, they have been a problem for taller guests who have found it uncomfortable to move around and gone bumping their heads in some places.

Small rooms

Some rooms are small and cramped, with sloping roofs and are accessible only by precarious spiral stairs. This has been found difficult by some guests.

Cleanliness issues

A few guests felt that the rooms weren't as clean as they should be; one said that the hotel dog had been on the bed. Some even complained about the lack of hygiene in the kitchen.
