Positive Reviews

Outstanding location

Not only does 81 The Prom Hotel place you within a short stroll of many of Cheltenham’s most popular attractions, you’ll also be well placed to venture a little further afield and explore the stunning Cotswolds or nearby Gloucester.

Friendly service

A family team heads up the management of this hotel and the majority of guest reviews speak highly of their friendly approach and genuine interest in the satisfaction of their guests The staff is also happy to provide you with recommendations for local attractions.

Extra touches go above what you might expect

Although free upgrades are by no means guaranteed, several guests do comment that they were given a better room on arrival simply because one was available Other nice touches reported by guests include fresh fruit and water in the rooms.

Negative Reviews

Breakfast choices must be decided in advance

The hotel requires that you decide what you want for breakfast the night before You’ll also have to specify the time you want to eat, leaving little room for spontaneity or a leisurely morning.

Some rooms are subject to noise from outside

It doesn't appear to be a major problem, but some guests do report noise outside the hotel, particularly in the family room which backs onto a nightclub If you’re a light sleeper or are travelling with younger guests, it may be worth calling ahead to secure one of the quieter guest rooms.

Parking is not entirely straightforward

Only guests in the family, balcony or deluxe rooms are allocated a free parking space at the rear of the hotel Other guests can take advantage of free parking outside the hotel but only between 6pm and 8pm The hotel also issues permits for a nearby car park It’s not a huge issue but something to be aware of.
