Clean and comfy rooms

The Governor's House, Cheadle, receives favourable mentions from several guests as being a picturesque property offering pleasant, relaxing stays with comfortable beds. The property has a lovely outdoor seating area which guests enjoyed relaxing in.

Very good pub

The onsite pub and restaurant serves some very good meals said guests. The breakfast hers is good too, said most guests. Meals to go are available and limited room service is also provided.

Friendly and welcoming

The staff is friendly and helpful thought a great many guests. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial and many guests said that they had relaxing and pleasant stays as well as meals here.

Negative Reviews

Shabby, basic rooms

Several guests at The Governor's House, Cheadle, felt that the rooms were rather shabby and tired. Problems such as showers that either did not work or which emitted scalding water were reported. Some guests thought that the rooms were outdated and in need of some major changes. Some guests pointed out that the beds were too small.

Noisy due to pub

Some guests pointed out that this is not so much a hotel as just a few rooms above a pub. As such the pub noise carries on till late at night. This resulted in several guests being unable to sleep till the wee hours.

Booking mix ups

Several guests said that they had to wait to be Checked-in because there was no one at the reception or because the rooms were not ready. Some guests also said that they asked for a family room but were given two rooms far from each other.
