Positive Reviews

Moorish decor creates a unique experience.

The hotel's distinct blend of Arabic decor with Western accents and Classical music was very popular with guests. Many especially enjoyed the antique furniture and fixtures found throughout the establishment as well as the central courtyard and fountain.

Warm and friendly hosts.

The hosts are warm and welcoming, always ready to chat with people or even entertain kids with magic tricks. Several guests also said that the owner is a very charming and interesting man and that he enjoyed spending time with his patrons.

Great location in the heart of Brussels.

Reviewers spoke highly of the hotel's excellent location in one of the most iconic cities in Europe. Guests enjoyed the easy access to all that central Brussels has to offer, from architectural and historical landmarks to the famous dining and drinking.

Negative Reviews

A rather small and simple breakfast.

The complimentary continental breakfast may be a bit basic and small for those who like to start the day with a big meal. However, most reviewers stated that the food itself is quite good.

The rooms and location are not the quietest.

Owing to the location in central Brussels, more than a few people reported that the local area is quite loud from revellers out and about at night. Others also noted that the rooms themselves do not insulate sound from other guests or the noisy hotel lift.

Some cleanliness and maintenance issues.

A number of patrons reported problems with cleanliness and maintenance in their rooms, such as mouldy grout, hair in the bathtub, messes left by previous tenants, frayed or torn bed sheets, broken shower curtain hangers, and lingering odours.
