Positive Reviews

Idyllic surroundings and landscape.

This charming bed and breakfast is in a perfect spot. It is close enough to the centre of town that guests can easily reach the shops on foot, yet far enough away to have a secluded feel. The surrounding landscape - including views of Goat Fell Mountain - is also a breathtaking highlight.

Warm and friendly staff.

Caretakers of this accommodation offer helpful and personal service to every guest. Many people find the staff to always be around when something is needed, but they are far from intrusive. ng views of Goat Fell Mountain - is also a breathtaking highlight.

Delicious homemade style cooking.

Guests who stay at Glenartney will have plenty of chances throughout the day to get some scrumptious food. Every stay includes a full Scottish breakfast in the morning that is made using local ingredients. Afternoons are reserved for homemade tea and cakes, while in between guests will be able to get a packed lunch for their journeys.

Negative Reviews

Hotel is on top of a steep hill.

Placement on top of a hill can be both positive and negative for this guesthouse. While the elevation affords some great views, it means people who are less abled or have a lot of luggage in tow will find the incline particularly challenging.

Bathrooms are hard to manoeuvre in.

En suite facilities for guests at Glenartney are cramped and barely usable. In particular are the showers, which many guests will find almost impossible to move around in.

Quarters are too cosy for some.

Advertisements about the guestrooms at Glenartney describe the accommodations as quaint and cosy, but that's not how every visitor would describe their room. The small guestrooms are too small for some people, who can feel claustrophobic during their stay.
