Positive Reviews

Centrally Located for Pleasure

The location is very good, being near to the beach and pier, with access to so much of what Brighton has to offer. Claudette, the owner, came in for much praise as being helpful and friendly.

Good Value

The room was a good size, with comfortable beds. The single room was also bright, airy and spacious. The hotel generally appealed as being good value for money.

Well Provisioned

There is a generous supply of tea and coffee in the room.

Negative Reviews

Needs Updating

The building is in need of renovation, walls being very thin so that one hears all that is said in neighbouring rooms. The shower was very unreliable, and the TV was outdated and worked intermittently, and Wi-Fi did not perform in the room. The cleaning of the room and the shower room could have been more thorough.

Could be Cleaner

Guests commented that this is definitely not 3 star with a dirty shower, toilet, sink, mirrors and walls. Another felt that the room could do with a revamp as it showed water damage on the wall, and a damaged carpet.

Modernise to Improve

Plumbing and shower thermostat need attention. There was damp on the walls, and the bed was uncomfortable Breakfast was a disappointment. All in all the Westbourne has many good points, particularly the location and the warmth of the welcome, however it would seem to be in need of some fairly serious updating of the infrastructure.
