Positive Reviews

Well-appointed luxurious rooms.

Kempfield Hotel offers exceptional value with well-appointed luxurious rooms. Most rooms feature four poster beds with well-stocked hospitality trays. Superior Rooms also feature complimentary wine and chocolates. All rooms are en-suite with a choice between baths only or bath/shower combinations.

Excellent location for sightseeing.

The property enjoys an enviable location just a few minutes’ walk from Brighton Pier and the city centre where guests can explore a myriad of bars, restaurants and shops. The Brighton nightlife offers plenty of night time entertainment including theatres, night clubs and bars.

Fantastic breakfast options.

A variety of first class breakfast options can be enjoyed in the spacious breakfast room. Guest can choose between a traditional English cooked breakfast, made with local ingredients and farm-fresh eggs, or non-cooked options including cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt, all served with a variety of teas, coffees and fruit juices.

Negative Reviews

Traditional guest house and décor.

The guest house occupies a listed building that was built in 1765 and many of the original features form part of the current décor. All rooms are also suitably decorated in a traditional style. This sort of traditional décor may not suit everyone, particularly those more accustomed to modern, hi-tech establishments.

No lift in the building.

Despite having numerous floors the hotel does not feature a lift on the premises. Guests travelling with a lot of luggage or those with impaired mobility may struggle with access to rooms above ground level. Booking rooms on the ground floor would be more advantageous.

Location can be noisy at night.

Brighton is traditionally a holiday town and with that in mind guests may experience a fair amount of street noise at night. Light sleepers or those that need to rise early may wish to book on the top floor, away from the noise.
