Positive Reviews

Comfortable and spacious suite.

Most reviewers who stayed overnight were positive about the standard of the inn’s letting room. Known as the Oldbury Suite, guests described it as spacious and well-appointed with tasteful decor. Many guests liked the minibar containing free soft drinks and the luxury bed which most found to be comfortable. If you fancy a lazy start to the day you can arrange to have breakfast served in the room.

Pleasant service from friendly staff.

Attentive, friendly, helpful and professional are just some of the words used by guests to describe the personnel.

Nice food, pleasant surroundings.

This inn is a popular dining choice with locals. Most visitors agreed there were well-cooked meats including lamb, beef and poultry plus plenty of vegetables on the carvery. There was also praise for the wide choice of starters, main courses, vegetarian options and desserts. Visitors also liked the beer garden, choice of draught ales and country pub ambience. Many guests noted the good standard of cleanliness in the pub and accommodation.

Negative Reviews

Traffic noise bothered some.

A bit of noise from passing traffic could be heard at night in the bedroom, according to some light sleepers who left reviews. Situated about half a mile from the A458 main road, the inn sits on a minor road so heavy traffic is rare.

Peaceful rural location has drawbacks.

Overnight guests mostly reported having a pleasant stay at this countryside location just one mile from the center of Bridgnorth. However, those who wanted to explore the area on foot faced a tricky walk to town as there are no pavements for the first part of the journey.

Occasional slow service.

A few diners occasionally thought service was too prone to slowing during busy periods in the pub.
