Positive Reviews

Lovely food

The pub grub on offer here is a step above the usual fare you find in traditional inns about the UK. It's very well prepared and delicious even if it is a little pricey. The breakfast is more than enough to see you through to early afternoon with plenty of options for all.

A real Welsh welcome

The staff at this hotel go out of their way to say hello to you on your arrival. They are extremely friendly and love to talk about the local area. This is especially good for those that have never been to Brecon or the surrounding area.

Old world charm

This place has got plenty of charm and character, and you'll really feel like you've stepped back in time staying at this place. The odd crack here and there only adds to the sense of adventure you get visiting such a small and rural hotel.

Negative Reviews

Tiny rooms for tiny people

It seems that this place was built for people who aren't quite the average height as many guests have to lower their heads when entering the rooms. Everything inside is so compact that if you're claustrophobic, you might feel a bit cramped.

In need of refurbishment

This hotel has certainly seen better days and the fact that the staff are so nice helps paper over the cracks that can be seen throughout. Everything is in need of replacement, and there's not much in the way of mod cons.

Booking problems

At a place as small as this there really shouldn't be any problems with bookings but unfortunately, there are. Some guests have arrived to find that their rooms have been double booked and that they had to find alternative accommodation.
