Positive Reviews

Location can't be beat.

The views from Blenheim Lodge were even better than imagined for many guests. Waking up to a view of the lake was a highlight for even the most discerning visitor. Guests also appreciated that this bed and breakfast was off the beaten path, but with free parking and easy access to shops, restaurants, and the train station.

Service with a smile.

Guests expected great hospitality at this bed and breakfast, and they weren't disappointed. Friendly and knowledgeable staff were found to be welcoming, and many guests had a great start to their visit with complimentary tea.

Start the day off right.

Guests were overall very pleased with the breakfast offerings. While a few took issue with the time that breakfast was served, those that sat down for a meal were given lots of selection of cold items, and a full English breakfast made to order. Special diets were also accommodated.

Negative Reviews

Shower not always up to par.

A few guests complained of a small shower that didn't have the best water pressure. On the plus side, the shower temperature was found to be hot, but still too weak for some tastes. Some guests also wished for more toiletries in the bathroom.

Steep hill.

Blenheim Lodge has great views because it's on a hill. Guests of a certain age, or those with mobility impairments, might not want to make the steep climb daily.

Sparse decor.

From time to time, guests complained of austere accommodations that lacked warmth in both decoration and temperature. According to some, rooms were a bit stark, with white paint and a lack of paintings, photographs or personal touches. Some guests also experienced a cold or drafty night, and would have liked to see more blankets.
