Positive Reviews

Very convenient location.

Unless visiting nearby Poole or Christchurch, you'll find little reason to use your car once you park up here. Everything in the resort is within an easy stroll of the hotel and the cliff-top and beach are both just at the end of the road.

Secure parking is a real bonus.

Anybody familiar with the local area will know just how hard it can be to park anywhere close to Bournemouth seafront and town centre. Being able to do it here, and for free, is something else entirely. Very handy indeed.

Guest rooms are fresh and bright.

Fresh and bright to the point of being almost funky, the Newbury's guest bedrooms make a very welcome change from the traditional décors so often favoured by guest houses in this part of the world.

Negative Reviews

Breakfast is a bit of a trek away.

It's nice that guests can choose whether or not to have a breakfast during their stay. However, those that do should be made aware that they'll have to walk a good few hundred metres to find the establishment that will redeem their voucher.

Windows in some guest rooms are hard to open...

...And that can cause a few issues with sleeping and general comfort during spells of hot weather. Fortunately, most rooms have fans in them which go some way to alleviating any discomfort the heat may cause.

Area can be noisy at times.

With so many hotels and guest houses in this part of Bournemouth, you can often hear some of the resort's more lively visitors (i.e. the many stag and hen groups that come here) out on the streets during their exploits after dark. It's not every night but it's worth bringing some ear plugs – especially at weekends – just in case.
