Rooms at the Alumhurst are modern in design, en-suite and feature colour TV and tea and coffee facilities.

This smoke-free hotel offers free Wi-Fi in the public areas and limited free parking. Reception is manned at all times. It is only a five minute walk from the Opera House, three piers and the vibrant town centre.

The hotel provides breakfast and evening dinner choices. The well-stocked licensed bar also features a pool table, dart board and quiz machine. Ma Kelly’s and The Rose and Crown are good starting points when considering nearby dining and drinking options.

Positive Reviews

Good value and clean.

All the basics are here and at a more than realistic cost. Rooms are clean, warm and pleasantly decorated. Breakfast is good, well presented and substantial. There are very few ‘frills' - but they don't pretend that there are any.

Good location in the centre of Blackpool.

It's only a few minutes' walk from Blackpool North railway station (*the main one). The town centre attractions are a similar walking distance. The bar here, is well stocked and well priced so no need to hit the town centre as a matter of any urgency!

Some surprisingly high standards.

It's not everywhere that beds are changed daily with fresh towels supplied. Staff members are great; welcoming, informative and very friendly. Your stay here comes with a discount voucher, entitling you to a ‘whopping' saving on resort facilities … and there are plenty of them!

Negative Reviews

No pressure then

Showers can be little more than a dribble! It all comes down to the ‘height' of the building, location and the fact that everyone wants to use the shower at the same time. Nothing can be done; it's a fact of life. Just go with the flow!

Time to join the renaissance

Blackpool is undergoing massive investment in the promenade facilities, tram system and entertainment venues that are open throughout the year. It's disappointing, then, to come across accommodation that is dated and frankly, damp. Breakfast is fine but vegetarian requests throw a spanner in the works and the delay is monumental!

There's no lift

It's not a problem for those with rooms at lower floor level but, if you've got a ‘room at the top', be aware; it's a long climb with no lift … and very little water pressure!
