Positive Reviews

Calm village atmosphere, perfect for Snowdonia.

You will find this character hotel, with its warm fires and village-heart location, to be a perfect spot to base yourself while taking on the hikes and other attractions of the Snowdonia National Park, and a train station and bus stops are close by and Sn

Quality meals and service.

Both the evening and morning meals at The Gwydyr have been deemed very good for taste, price and serving size, while the service has likewise been great.

Good value, spacious rooms, dogs welcome too.

The clean, comfortable and spacious rooms were found to be modern where re-furbished and good value overall, and it proves no problem to bring the dog here on holiday.

Negative Reviews

Some rooms a little tired, but….

Some rooms are definitely still a little tired and dated, but those that had already been refurbished by mid-2015 have been well received and more improvements are planned.

Wi-Fi can be slow and intermittent.

A handful of guests at The Gwydyr found the free WiFi to be intermittent at times, and slow, but did not find this to be so important given they were there for relaxation, not for work.
