Rooms are Clean and Well-Appointed

Guest rooms are uniquely-decorated and large enough to move about without feeling cramped. The shower has lots of water pressure, the beds are comfortable, there are plenty of amenities and the walls are soundproof.

Fantastic Food, Drinks and Service in the Pub

Even when it is very busy, staff still manages to get guests seated and served quickly while delivering friendly and professional service. The servings are large and there is a large selection of tasty, filling and well-prepared meals that include vegetarian options.

Quiet and Central Location

The hotel's location is quiet but still centrally-located to be able to access many attractions. Everything guests want to see in the area are either within walking distance or a short drive away.

Negative Reviews

Poor -Quality Food and Service in the Restaurant

The food served in the restaurant is likened to average pub grub. There isn't a lot to choose from and most of it is deep-fried and poorly-prepared with some guests reporting that they received items that were undercooked, overcooked and bland. Also reported was watered down soda drinks, frozen items that were microwaved before being served and poor service that made some guests feel like they were being rushed to finish their meal.

Guest Rooms are Tired and in Need of Some Work

The guest rooms are old-fashioned and not thoroughly cleaned. Guests have reported that the rooms are always either too cold or too hot and the walls and furnishings are stained. Also reported was malfunctioning shower taps, mould around the shower area and uncomfortable beds.

There is a lot of Noise in and Around the Hotel

It is hard to get a good night's sleep at Wheatsheaf due to the sound of constant traffic passing on the road nearby. Also reported was loud plumbing and the ability to hear everything going on in nearby rooms due to a lack of soundproofing.
