About Broomhill Art

The Broomhill Art is set in a charming Victorian building and features an award-winning restaurant. Interestingly, the hotel has its own art gallery and sculpture park.

All rooms at the Broomhill Art are stylishly decorated, and feature en-suites. They have flat-screen televisions, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Free parking is available and the hotel hosts weddings, private parties and conferences. The hotel uniquely displays art throughout, and has a contemporary art collection for sale in its gallery. There is a sculpture park in the surrounding grounds.

The in-house restaurant, which won 'Best Restaurant' in the 2013 North Devon Good Food Awards, is open from Wednesday to Saturday. Bar meals are available every lunchtime and breakfast is available every day.

The Broomhill Art is situated in North Devon, five-minutes away from the bustling town of Barnstaple. Exmoor National Park is a 20-minute drive away. The coastal attractions of Woolaombe are nearby.

Positive Reviews

A wonderfully novel experience.

The Broomhill Art is an unusual but exhilarating hotel experience, simply because there are not many hotels that double up as an art gallery. Guests report the art as 'thought-provoking' and 'interesting', so be prepared for a fascinating stay. Some of th

Beautiful sculpture garden.

Continuing the art theme, the Broomhill Art is set in beautiful gardens that contain a number of sculptures. The garden is great either to take a stroll in, or to sit down at one of several resting places to admire the relaxing surroundings.

Delicious food in the award-winning restaurant.

The restaurant scores top marks with guests, with the food consistently described as "excellent", with the staff exceptionally keen to please. This includes occasions when the kitchen has generously extended its opening hours to cook for late-arriving hun

Negative Reviews

No phone signal throughout the building.

The location of the building unfortunately means that mobile phone signals can be difficult to detect throughout the hotel. In most hotels this would be a definite minus point, but in the Broomhill Art there are at least peaceful surroundings to be happil

Parking is limited.

If you are arriving at the hotel as a guest and a function is taking place, you might find parking is at a premium. While on-site parking is free, there is not much space available. It is worth checking with the hotel before you arrive to see if they will

Sometimes, the breakfast disappoints.

For a hotel with such an excellent restaurant, it seems strange to report that the breakfast has come in for some criticism from some guests. Breakfast is sometimes reported as cold or lukewarm.
