Positive Reviews

A cracking start to the day

The breakfast at Cairn Bay Lodge is fantastic. It is beautifully presented and tastes great. It's clear that it is made from good quality ingredients and there are a decent selection of options. You'll leave for the morning feeling satisfied.

Such friendly people

The staff here are really friendly. They are very keen to ensure you are having an enjoyable stay and will happily give you as much information as you require about the local area. They can give you maps and plenty of useful knowledge.

A sense of location

You'll get a great view of the bay from this property. Being right on the water, the vista is lovely. You'll find yourself in an ideal position, close to the middle of Bangor and within walking distance of a number of restaurants, shops and cafes. You can get to Belfast easily enough using public transport.

Negative Reviews

Bathroom issues

The showers at Cairn Bay Lodge don't have the most powerful water pressure. You might not find washing to be the most refreshing experience.

Bring extra layers

Guestrooms at this hotel can get rather cold. The heating isn't always on and even when it is, it can still be a little chilly. If you are visiting during less climate months, you should perhaps bring some warm clothes.

It's hard to get power

Some of the guestrooms here seem to be lacking enough plug sockets and a few of them are in inaccessible places, such as behind the tables and the television stands. This isn't very convenient if you need to charge your devices.
