Positive Reviews

Lovely Location.

A pleasant seaside locale with free parking nearby and spectacular sea views, especially at time of the setting sun. Lovely restaurant and bar inside and a warm, cosy reception area.  This is a favourite wedding setting for good reason.  Scenic walks along the adjacent Lang Scots Mile mustn't be missed.

Superb Food.

High quality items in fantastic variety for the choosing. The new chef is outstanding, the food is impeccable and very well-presented. The afternoon tea is popular and affordable as well with home made scones served aside cream and jam. The coffee is delicious and the views from the lounge while dining are utterly stunning.

Friendly Staff.

Welcoming, always professional and helpful, you'll be greeted warmly and assisted throughout your stay. They'll remember your name from the first encounter. Kitchen staff are brilliant with their skill and timing on promptly serving hot food of various selection. Weddings are well-done from start to finish without a single request denied. Service in all areas is exemplary.

Negative Reviews

Greasy Spoons.

Some felt the food was overly greasy and there weren't enough healthy vegetarian options.

Room Foibles.

If you like the smell of dogs, you are in luck. Decor is dated and worn.  Plan on a heatstroke when your room has no air conditioning or fan - and to top it off - the heat won't shut off in the dead of summer.

Not Enough Staff or Parking.

Where is the staff?  One can only guess.  Short-staffed schedules appear to be no infrequent event here, and long waits to check in or be served aren't unusual.  Staff may be reluctant to reprimand unruly guests when there is little backup to support them, so noise may prevail overnight.  There also may not be enough parking for all the guests in the preferred areas.
