Positive Reviews

Excellent breakfast

Breakfast at Number 43 consistently attracts rave reviews, with guests appreciative of the quality of the locally sourced food and also of the presentation. Guests also like the opportunity to enjoy breakfast in the room along with the bucks fizz including in the breakfast spread on Sunday mornings.

Appealing location

Guests have found the location of this B&B appealing, mentioning how the promenade is picturesque and there are shops and dining options nearby. Plus, the property is ideally situated for anyone who wants to visit the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

Well-equipped rooms

There's little chance of you finding yourself short of any creature comforts or conveniences while staying at Number 43. Previous guests have noted that the rooms are not only stylish but also include a well thought out selection of amenities.

Negative Reviews

Get your timings right

Guests occasionally mention the strict timing of check-in. The host lives in an annexe to the property so asks guests to specify their arrival time. Those who missed that time sometimes say the host was rather abrupt with them, to the point of being angry. Not the best start!

No off-road parking

Although very few guests mention encountering issues with parking on the promenade, it does seem that it could be an issue during busier summer months. That said, some guests would simply prefer off-road parking to be available.

Occasional issues

Problems at this B&B appear to be rare with no areas of major concern (unless you don't arrive on time!). A few previous guests have mentioned problems with the Wi-Fi and a couple of others encountered one-off issues such as dirty cutlery but that's about it.
