About Woodenbridge

Established in 1608, Woodenbridge has the distinction of being the oldest hotel in Ireland, although the lodge section is much newer. It offers splendid scenery, plus friendly service.

Rooms at the Woodenbridge are inviting, light-filled spaces. They have en-suite facilities, plus complimentary Wi-Fi access. The accommodations also include a desk and chair. Some of the rooms in the lodge section have private balconies.

The property has beautiful landscaped gardens, plus a lounge area where guests can read and relax. Spaces are available to hire for special events, such as weddings, too.

Guests can dine throughout the day at the Redmond Restaurant. The hotel also has a wine cellar that can help guests keep their thirsts quenched.

A 20-minute drive from the Greenan Farm Museums & Maze, this property is about 35 minutes from the historic ruins of Black Castle by car.

Positive Reviews

The Staff Are Prompt and Have Good Attitudes

There were many remarks from guests about how the staff worked efficiently, but were able to do that without losing a personal touch. Comments also mentioned how the staff tried their best to meet short-term needs and did so with cheerful dispositions.

The Cooked Breakfast is Delicious

Guests generally liked how this property offers a made-to-order breakfast rather than a buffet option. Although there were occasional comments that the food was a little slow to arrive when the restaurant was busy, most guests agreed that everything tasted so good that it was well worth the wait.

A Great Place to Unwind

Surrounded by the picturesque Wicklow Mountains, this property was often praised by guests due to its secluded setting. If you're looking for a place that'll truly let you take a break from your ordinary routine, this property should do more than meet expectations.

Negative Reviews

Some Minor Mattress Issues

From time to time, guests brought up the opinion that the beds could be better. Some discussed how the mattresses were worn, so it was easy to feel the springs underneath the top surface. In other cases, guests simply said the mattresses felt too hard.

You May Only Get a Car Park View

Sometimes, guests arrived here after hearing great things about the beautiful views here, but were upset to find that their specific rooms only looked out over the car park. If you're set on a room with a view, it's worthwhile to ring the property in advance and see what's available, especially since the accommodations are divided into several sections.

The Rooms Look Dated

Guests mentioned that some rooms are very tired looking. However, this observation did not usually detract a lot from overall stays.
