About Woodhill House

Woodhill House is a coastal manor home set in a very scenic area. Some parts of the residence date back to the 17th century, giving guests a historical B&B experience.

Accommodations at Woodhill House have en-suite facilities with either double or twin beds. Some also have both showers and tubs or include patios that connect to the walled gardens.

Wi-Fi is available in public areas. The staff are quite well informed about activities in the area, including pony trekking and bicycling, so they can readily help guests from the reception area.

This property offers food for the public and overnight guests alike. The menu is French based with an Irish influence. Furthermore, the licensed bar serves tasty beverages, and occasionally hosts live music.

A 20-minute drive from the Slieve League cliffs, this property is about 15 minutes from Sheskinmore, a wildlife reserve, by car. The town of Ardara is about a 10-minutes’ walk away.

Positive Reviews

Walking Distance to Town

Guests appreciated how they were able to walk to the centre of Adare. Although it may not be practical to plan on walking everywhere you go when staying here, reviews reflected that it should be easy for you to at least go exploring on foot without hassles.

Warm and Welcoming Staff

Guests consistently remarked how the employees at this B&B were always ready to make them feel right at home. The staff were also well able to give advice about things to do and where to eat, which tended to help guests feel at ease even when they weren't familiar with the area.

A Charming Environment

Numerous reviews remarked how this property is located to offer splendid views. The building itself has historical value, and guests liked being able to stay in a place that was distinctly different from a chain hotel. There were also many favourable comments about the B&B's walled gardens.

Negative Reviews

Mixed Comments About Breakfast

Some guests were less than thrilled about the taste of their breakfasts. Most admitted although there were no major problems with it, they were expecting a lot better than what they got. Even so, this was not a factor that made guests reluctant to come back in the future.

Some Rooms Look Worn

Guests cited minor shortcomings when talking about the state of their rooms. Some talked about rusty radiators, stained carpets and peeling wallpaper. Others said the taps in their bathrooms were loose. Most guests agreed it would be really easy to spruce up these rooms and make them look more appealing.

The TVs Only Receive a Few Channels

There were occasional negative comments that the televisions at this property don't get many channels. Most guests said they didn't intend to watch a lot of TV during their stays, but were still disappointed.
