Positive Reviews

Substantial breakfasts

Walkers, cyclists and tourists, are drawn here in great numbers They need substantial breakfasts to set them up for the day, as well as, sometimes, early eating options. They’ve certainly come to the right place here!

No frills, but far from basic

Rooms are comfortable, rather than lavish; but, then, who comes to a country inn and expects caviar and champagne. If seeking a breath of fresh air, clean accommodation, good food and drink and convivial company – look no further.

Great bar

You can’t put a price on the ability to join locals in the public bar and enjoy their company, knowing that ‘they’ are here to enjoy the best quality drinks in the town!

Negative Reviews

Tight parking

The car park is to the rear There’s not much of it, so it can be a bit of a squeeze!

Small rooms

It depends on availability but, in this ancient building, they tend to be a bit small and rather cramped.

Night time noise

You've enjoyed yourself in the bar, before deciding that it’s time for bed Sadly, those in the bar seem intent on getting maximum enjoyment until the last pint is supped … and their noisy merriment knows no bounds!
