The Hotel Walliserhof is built in typical Valaisan chalet style, and located in the heart of the village. The hotel is 200m from the railway station and a few minutes walk from the cable cars which take you up to the alpine peaks. Regional and international cuisine is served in the hotel's "Stübli" restaurant which is popular with guests and locals alike (the fondue is well worth trying) and there's also a grill room and the Bahnhofstrasse terrace where you can have a drink outside. The staff are welcoming and friendly.

Die gutausgebaute Autostrasse ist bis Taesch (4.8 km vor Zermatt) befahrbar. In Taesch stehen Parkhaeuser und oeffentliche Parkplaetze zu Verfuegung. Fuer Bahnbenuetzer nach Zermatt befinden sich Gratisparkplaetze in Visp. Ab Taesch verkehren Pendelzuege (im 20 Minuten Takt) und Kleinbus-Taxis nach Zermatt.
