    This was the first holiday abroad for my wife and I 1988, so at the time we had little experience of beaches abroad. We stopped in a hotel called the Iliessa and you could walk out of the hotels grounds straight onto the beach.     Zakynthos or Zante was the first holiday abroad for me and the first together with my wife, belated honeymoon. We did a few excursions on the 2 week holiday, one of them being the island tour which included a boat trip to Smugglers Cove.
