[Helencbradshaw, 12/01/2008] There were many highlights of my recent California tour, but I think I am like many people in that these tall trees have a particular fascination. The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is towards the South entry to Yosemite National Park (highway 41) and situated fairly close to the Historic Wawona Hotel. [toombsey, 12/05/2007] Maripose Grove is located to the south of Yosemite national Park, but a an attraction within itself with it own entrance fee etc. The grove contains some of the biggest, tallest and oldest trees in the world. The giant sequoia trees have been around about 70 million years.
