The Nubble Lighthouse is also known as the Cape Neddick Lighthouse. It was built in 1879 and started operating in the July of 1879. The tower stands 41 feet tall and stands 88 feet above the ocean. The red beacon of the Nubble can be seen from 13 nautical miles away and flashes at 6 second intervals. The tower is made of cast iron which is lined with brick. .
