[David, 25.02.2008] According to the author the Castle Howard is "one of the world's most beautiful buildings".
It is "instantly recognizable" because of the "Brideshead Revisitedfor" TV series, where it had "its starring role".
The castle's location is between "the rolling Howardian Hills", and offering "landscaped vistas" as well "a scattering of monumental follies and obelisks"
The visitors can also enjoy "acres of terraced gardens complete with wandering peacocks".
The author recommends to visit the castle "on a weekday", because it is not so crowded and you can "easily appreciate" "this hedonistic marriage of art, architecture, landscaping and natural beauty".

We are also said that nearby are the " Vanbrugh's playful Temple of the Four Winds" as well the "Hawksmoor's stately mausoleum".
The author point on the "irresistible", "great baroque house" with "magnificent central cupola", which is full inside "of treasures, such as the chapel's Pre-Raphaelite stained glass".
