The York Marriott Hotel is based around a building from 1876 and located in its own grounds next to York Racecourse, 1.5 miles from the centre of York. The 151 guestrooms, over five floors, have traditional English furnishings and decor. All offer dedicated workspaces with desks, satellite television with pay movies, direct dial phones with voicemail, dial up Internet access, air conditioning, coffee/tea makers, minibars and trouser presses. Bathrooms have hair dryers and designer toiletries. Hypo allergenic bedding and cribs are available on request.
The hotel's Ridings Restaurant is set in a light, wood floored room with high ceilings. It overlooks the gardens and racecourse, and serves international cuisine, while Cooks Bar serves a brasserie menu in a contemporary setting and features live piano music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Please note guest rooms at the York Marriott will be under renovation from January 29th through April 13th 2007. Half a floor at a time will be refurbished to minimize disruption to hotel guests.
