[1krispy1, 27.03.2007] indieLondon visit Yellowstone National Park. The author opens the discussion noting this "the world's first National Park" has some of the "greatest wildlife populations" and remains "incredibly beautiful". She stayed in the park and was "within easy reach" of several of the major features of Yellowstone.

One of these is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. While noting the drop to be greater than that of Niagara what really captured her imagination "are the striking ochre hues of its rock walls". Viewing the sights requires a walk down "a short but steep trail".

Another point of interest was the Fountain Paint Pot which is "brightly colored pools" made up of thermal activity that "is easily explored" via a short trail. A printed guide is available for a nominal fee. A large magma chamber "three times the size of Manhattan" is where this activity comes from.

Yellowstone is "wilderness personified" and "wildlife is abundant". See all this is wildness "is just wonderful".
