The dining area is delightfully decorated giving a light and airy feel. In the summer months guests can take advantage of the garden and enjoy alfresco dining, eating a delicious traditional Cumbrian breakfast whilst absorbing the wonderful surroundings. There is also an extensive cold table offering all the foods you would expect. All ingredients are locally sourced to ensure the best quality including an endless supply of fresh coffee and a variety of teas.Windermere is the central location for tourism in the Lake District and Wheatlands Lodge is ideally situated a couple of minutes walk from the main village, with its excellent shops, fine restaurants and bistros. From the doorstep there are many walks without the need to use a car. An easy walk down into Bowness and there is the home to the world of Beatrix Potter. Walk throughout Bowness to the lakeshore where you will find the pier that takes the lake cruises from Bowness to Ambleside, or Lakeside where you can enjoy the Aquarium of the lake or journey a little further on one of the steam trains on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.
