Article
[Newfloridian, 02.12.2006] Miss Knight visited the Lake District in 2002, the centenary year of Peter Rabbit, the most famous of the characters from Beatrix Potter's "animal tales". Writing in The Observer she also noted that the author bought Lindeth Howe for her mother and did paintings for her books there. Now a hotel, she was concerned that it may be "one big Potter attraction" but she was gratified to find it a modern country house with "comfy" bedrooms. "Small tasteful reminders" of the author and books in the hotel library make it a "must" for the "true Potter fan". She found the meals "tasty though light" and enjoyed the pool and sauna. She also noted the proximity of and ease of travel to other sites of Potter memorabilia. The hotel can facilitate these trips.
