You can also help yourself to the buffet, which features fresh fruit and fruit juices, yoghurts and cereals. By car, Ambleside is a 10-minute drive away, with spectacular views of the lake all along the way.By Car (from the M6 motorway): \n- Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 and follow the signs for Windermere (the road is dual carriageway for most of the way).\n- As you enter Windermere, you will pass the Windermere Hotel on the right (raised on the hillside). Do not turn left into Windermere village, but continue on the main road, passing the NatWest Bank and a row of shops on the left-hand side. \n- Continue on past the next turning on your left (Elleray Road), and take the next turning on the left, which is Phoenix Way.\n- The Hideaway At Windermere is on the right-hand side.\n\nBy Train: \nTransfer from mainline trains at Oxenholme train station, where you will find direct trains to Windermere.
