Very pleasant little place to stay, close to the CBD, train station, and Interisland Ferry terminal.

The room was pleasantly well appointed with stereo, television, SKY TV, a washer/dryer combo, a work station, table, cutlery, toaster, jug, and other expected amenities. The only glaring problem with the Aitken on Mulgrave is the lack of Internet access provided. One would expect WiFi access in a hotel of this caliber, yet when asked about it, the manager seemed affronted and a little put out that such a request had been made. The lack of high speed Internet access is a huge negative for the business traveler, or anyone looking to keep in touch quickly and easily with friends and family.

The hotel was in good condition, and had a quiet and peaceable atmosphere. A great place to catch up on some much needed rest whilst travelling.

At the time of my stay there was a construction site right next to the hotel, which made for a rather curious stay. However the Aitken on Mulgrave is located conveniently to Lambton Quay, as well as Government buildings, which makes it perfect for those in town on business.
