The restaurant at the George Hotel in Codford, Warminster was a 2006 winner of a Which? Wiltshire Restaurant of the Year award. It is run by chef-proprietor Boyd McIntosh whose philosophy is that "over complication of dishes is the downfall of many a good chef". Accordingly the restaurant offers quite a small set menu of 'Modern British' food with a choice of 2 or 3 courses. Lunch is available from 12.00 to 14.00 Wednesday to Monday and dinner service is available on Monday and Wednesday through to Saturday. Parking is available on site and along the High Street and dining outside is possible during the summer months. In addition to being a restaurant, the George is also the village pub. |
