Stayed at the AD Place for five nights as a special treat. It's not cheap (just like Venice!) but we felt really pampered. Room overlooked canal (some way down!) and we were serenaded by the gondoliers passing below. As it was a superior room, we got a bottle of champagne (with nibbles and strawberries) which was very welcome. We also liked the endless supply of coffee just outside our room, often with cakes or other treats; this was great for a mid afternoon break when our feet were really aching after serious sight-seeing. We would stay again, and can thoroughly recommend this romantic and slightly quirky hotel.
