The Varna harbor is the biggest in Bulgaria. It hosts any kind of ships and loads.
Varna is called the Bulgarian sea capital, and the harbor is the main diamond in its crown.
As its on the Black sea it has easy connections with Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Asia.
The harbor has two parts Varna east and Varna west, which is in the Beloslav lake and the ships must limit their speed as the movements is one way.
The ports history is over 20 centuries, but in the condition now its since 1980.
The most interesting place for the tourists is the breakwater, which indeed is the ports entrance.
The place is nice for walking as well watching the sea, the town and the ships and yachts.
In the end there is the harbor lighthouse, where is the icon of the St. Nikolay - wonder worker, which is the protector of the sailor and fishermen.
After sunset the view to the lighted Asparuhs bridge is very beautiful.
The harbor is close to the Railway station and all the buses, which pass by it, go to the harbor as well. The bus number 48 goes directly to the Sea station. The ticket cost about 0.30 euro and the view is free of cost ;-)
