The author says that his hotel was formerly a "down-at-the-heels" hotel but it was renovated and then "reopened in 1998 with an eye to the budget-conscious traveler". Its hallways have lots of photos of "Vancouver's early days". The guest rooms are "simply and adequately furnished". There are also suites that have kitchenettes and are "convenient for families". The author recommends to ask for a room that is "facing onto Granville" to get a good view.
