Lake Mead - Las Vegas, United States of America
The Hoover Dam and Lake Mead (24.04.2008 23:57)
When we were on holiday in Las Vegas we thought an interesting trip would be to the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead so we booked a tour in an air conditioned coach as it was July and Nevada was extremely hot. Outside it was 120 degrees and the air conditioning could not cope by the time was neared the dam we had nearly cooked. Our first glimpse of this impressive structure was from high up on the [more...] -
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Komplex - Cape Canaveral, United States of America
We have lift off (09.01.2008 13:36)
When the subject of visiting the Kennedy Space Centre was broached I was a bit dubious but as the men in the family were all keen I went along for the ride. You enter the complex through Spaceport Central where you can pick up information, wheelchairs, buggies and can buy tickets. Kennedy itself is free but to enjoy it to the full a bus tour to the NASA Space Shuttle facility and a tour to the [more...] -
Disney's Hollywood Studios - Lake Buena Vista, United States of America
Light Camera Action (09.01.2008 13:29)
MGM Studios is the smallest of the Disney Parks but still has a lot to offer whetheryou are a movie buff or just looking for a fun day out. A day trip can cost in the regionof £35 but you do get a lot for your money but a hopper pass which gives you accessto all the Disney parks is by far the best value. At the entrance to the park you can pick up maps wheelchairs buggies or hire a locker for the [more...] -

The Big Apple (15.04.2007 12:01)
I am just back after a fabulous if not cold trip to New York where we were lucky enough to stay at the Hotel Edison. I would like to share my thoughts on the hotel with you. The Edison hotel was built in 1931in true Art Deco style it is situated on 228 West 47th Street just half a block from Times Square and one block from restaurant row. A few steps in either direction and you can enjoy the [more...] -
Ellis Island Immigration Museum - New York City, United States of America
Welcome to The New World (26.11.2006 17:36)
Any visit to New York would not be complete without a trip to Ellis Island the symbol of the American immigrant heritage. It is one of the most visited sites but it is very spacious and therefor never appears too crowded. Since it opened its doors in 1892 right up to 1954 more than 12 million landed at Ellis Island hoping to be permitted to stay in the promised land. Many had fled poverty, [more...] -
Epcot - Walt Disney World Resort - Lake Buena Vista, United States of America
Disney Not Just For Children (24.11.2006 12:25)
Epcot is the more serious side of Disney having said that its still a lot of fun . It is a very educational park and of all the Disney empire it is my favourite.I give it 10 out of 10 You arrive at the park through the Plaza where you can pick up wheelchairs, buggies park maps or hire a locker for the day. Straight ahead of you is Spaceship Earth that looks for all the world like a giant golf [more...]
