Description: Opened in February 2000, the museum is considered to be "one of South Africa's most significant heritage institutions" and displays, amongst other things, "an international selection of diverse gifts" presented to Mandela during his presidency. The museum is also the starting point for a tour which includes a visit to the birthplace and childhood home of Nelson Mandela at Mvezo and Qunu respectively.
