For anyone coming to Townsville for any reason I highly reccommend Townsville Holiday Apartments, They have different options of rooms, and all are self contained. They offer free internet and satellite TV which you don't often see these days!
I'm so pleased to see an Australian Tourism outfit that is outstanding at what they do!
