The Kent Cavern is a site that was once home to Stone Age people. Entry into the Caverns is by guided tour only and takes about 1 hour, but allow 2 1/2 hours for the full Kent Cavern attraction. Besides the caves there is a woodland trail and for the kids activities that they can try such as an archaeological "dig", face painting and cave painting. Facilities include: visitors center, restaurant, bar, free car park and private functions. The Kents Cavern is open all year except Christmas day and Boxing Day. It opens each day at 10 am but closing times are seasonal. The start times of guided tours vary throughout the year but can be confirmed at the website. Adults £7.90 and concessions for children, students, OAP and families Wheelchair access to the caves is restricted.
Torre Abbey was built in 1196 and was a monastery before being turned into a private residence for the more prominent citizens of Torquay. The mansion is now a grade 1 listed building and the museum has an art gallery and exhibits that include English glass, sculptures and antiquities. Other attractions are the gardens which has a tropical palm house and a pitch and put. Facilities include car park, restaurant, shop, toilets and facilities for the disabled. Torre Abbey is closed until mid 2008 due to major restoration work. Opening times are usually 21 March - 1 November from 9:30am - 6pm Admission adults £3 with concessions for OAP, children, disabled, students and groups.
The indoor shopping centre offers 140.000 sq ft filled with High Street shops, Designer shops and specialist shops. There is also a number of cafes and restaurants. The shopping centre offers award wining parking facilities, is fully accessible for the disabled and has baby changing facilities. Fleet Walk is located next to the Marina, close to bus stops and the local train station.
Rainbow Fun House
At the Rainbow Fun House an indoor play area of 13.000 sq ft is available for children, for grown ups there is a viewing gallery and a cafe on the premises. The play area for the younger children is located on the lower floor next to the cafe and offers a smaller climbing frame for toddlers, ball pool, slide and more. On the upper floor there is a larger climbing frame, mega slide and fumes. Further there are video rooms, a race track and themed party rooms which are available for rent. Opening hours: 10.00 - 17.30 daily Admission fees: Children under 3: £ 2.00 Children over 3: £4.25 Adults: £1.00 During the week the Rainbow Fun House holds mum and toddler mornings, the admission is £2.50 Please note that all under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
