Frommer's rate the Tokyo National Museum as "exceptional" and state that the "largest collection of Japanese art in the world" is housed at this "largest and oldest museum in Japan" which always has "something new" on display. Five exhibition buildings display artefacts and "antiques from Japan's past" which include art, armour, "lacquerware; ceramics; and paintings" as well as "priceless Buddhist treasures" and even "Egyptian relics" in the Gallery of Eastern Antiquities.
